Although the OIT's vision is to promote leadership, collaboration and development of the use of technology at the College of Education, concerns had arisen that this was not being communicated and consistently reminded to the new staff and student workers of the OIT Instructional Services unit. Such a lack of consistent training and the resultant performance would negatively affect the overall value of the OIT within the College of Education, and thus action would be needed to correct this situation if it existed. Of course, first the existence and nature of such a problem would need to be confirmed, and therefore the evaluation reported in this site was conducted.
The Vision of the Office of Information Technology is:
"To be a key contributor to advancing the College of Education’s Strategic Plan, to be renowned for leadership and expertise in information and instructional technology; for the promotion of partnerships and collaboration to achieve excellence in the use of technology; for collaborative leadership in the development of new models for flexible delivery of instruction; and for responsiveness, reliability, and customer service”. The Media Services room is located in Aderhold Room 231. It is a facility provided by the OIT to manage communication between the students and faculty of the College of Education and the OIT staff. It is also the central location where faculty and students checkout equipment (laptops, video camera, digital camera, etc...), purchase and use office supplies, make copies using state of the art copy machines and other everyday technology services needed by the College of Education.
