Fifteen / Fives #3

I read two articles one titled "A Case-Based E-Learning Model for Professional Education: Anesthesiology for Dental Students" and "Designing Constructivist Learning Environments". These two articles gave me a better idea of what type of work and analysis I must begin with in working on my project.

Since I do need to use video demonstrations in my learning environment I attended a workshop by Ron Braxley (my client) titled "Make Better Videos (and record better audio too)." This workshop will greatly help me in my pre-production and production stages of the project. I learned how to use the video and audio equipment available in the OIT. I also learned good strategies in shooting quality and interesting video that does not loose distraction of the viewer.

When thinking about my project and reading I began to think of the physical resources that must be available and understood by the learners before taking them directly into the task of setting up the equipment. I also must find out the history of the video conference room and what was the main reasons it was installed in the COE.

My learning environment must be interesting, appealing and engaging which means my high quality video scenarios for introducing the problem and engaging the learners will be a very important step. I also thought about making the solution authentic by video taping a faculty member calling the OIT staff with no previous knowledge of IP Video Conferencing and then video taping Scott from step 1 to the last step in supporting the faculty member. I hope this will serve as my engaging story within the learning environment.
