1. Psychological
   1. Issue of Guidance
      • Guidance = directions, try to get somehwere but you don't know how
      • There is a difference between being a Muslim and having guidance
      • There is a difference between knowledge and guidance, there is a difference between being a Muslim and having guidance
      • Bini Israel had knowledge but no guidance
      • Shahadah is one guided act
      • Guidance is about making the right choice
      • We get obsessed with knoweldge and forget about guidance
      • We must know the Quran like we know our sons
      • We have to take Quran as guidance, not just knoweldge
      • Story of Adam is mentioned 7 times in the Quran, spread out. How is Quran guidance? Do you ever wonder why every few days you run into the story of Adam!
      • Quran not full of stories, it is full of guidance
      • We need to read the stories for the purpose of seeking guidance from Allah
      • Guidance is the overriding principle, the first and foremost purpose of the Quran.
      • Family and friend will react differently to newly guided people, Loss of everything all for Guidance, Only after this a person tastes iman
      • Quran is reading my life

         1. Sense of urgency, source of success
         2. We only give time to something when we think it is important
      2. Quran is beyond criticism
         1. Today's society, the more you cricize the more it makes you smarter
         2. Asking intelligent quetions with humble attitude is fine
   3. Understanding the 3 reactions
      1. Whatever Quran says is guidance for me (there is a gap and I spend my life closing this gap)
         1. Rely only Allah, may expereince panic in family and loss of friends
         2. Open Heart to Islam/Salat is not burden anymore
         3. No perseon gets a burden that he/she cannot bears

Today Quran is about:

• Respect
• Decoration
• Protection/Good luck
• Book of Ceremonies
• To bless
• To cure
• Reference manual that has already been used
• Decorating our masajid and beuatifying our Quran brings our destruction
• Eid - celebration of obedience to Allah
• Smoe people just appreciate its miracle
• Skip controversial surahs like Tawbah, Ahzab, Munafiqoon
• Modern Nifaq - reformed visory of Islm, purposeful avoidance of parts of the book that may offend someone, strategically ignoring parts of the Quran, Allah curses those who hade part of the book
• We must present the entire message, Islam is the deen of fitra (nature), it appeals to human nature
• They make comments about our quran with no basis/ not in a position to make them anyways.

1. Practical
   1. To be recited (rigoursely, constanlty, memorized, ahkam al tajweed)
   2. To be understood (our glasses are the Quran to see the world / lens with when we see the world, to understand ourslevs and the world around us)
   3. To be implemented (to change ourselves)
   4. To be spread
      1. Originally comunicated as spken message
      2. Means of dawah are many
      3. Tablig (spread message)
      4. Dawah (invite someone)
      5. Allah gave us words to make dawah/primary means of dawah is Quran
      6. Communicate Quran in its closest essence
      7. Refresh by litsening to Quran

Adam vs. Iblees

• Both honored before the angels
• Both have free will and choice
• Both disobeyed Allah
• Adam repented but Iblees didnot
• Allah's plan was always to put man on earth
• Iblees told Adam that he better eat the fruit if he does not want to transfer from heaven to earth
• Adam submitted his intellect to Allah but Iblees didnot.
• We have the option of following Adam or Iblees
• How would you feel if your supervisor promotes someone from college while you worked for 20 years?
• Iblees had room for a logical complaint and he made it, Adam didnot not complain, he trusted in Allah's knowledge
• If you go to work on time and give effort then it is importnat to you...if not then is only a claim (we need to look into our ownselves)

Khoshoo

• Al Hadeed "Kad aflaha almuminoon allatheen fee salatuhum khashioon"
• Isn't it already time for belivers to be full of awe and feel humiliated to increase their iman
• Imagine seeking guidance from Allah many times a day, this should be our highest priority
• We are all in some position of authory. In salat we leave all that behind, we stand humiliated in front of Allah.

Islam: Deen vs. Religion

• Deen = obligations to self and society
• Religion = obligations only to the self
• We have been reduced to a religion

1. Social values (how people deal with each other, neibor, boss, wife)
2. Economic Principles (whnever there is money transfer)
3. Political Law

MUSLIMS MUST STRUGGLE TOGETHERE TO ESTABLISH THE DEEN

Part of effort is indiivdual, the other part is collective

The family is the real front of dawah, must develop a plan of action to soften families heart to the deen

LESSONS FORM SALAH

- When Imam makeas mistake, we let him know he he has made a mistake but continue to follow him (voice respectfully but never walk away

To revice the ummah and create a stable Muslim community

• Dawah - training
• Organization - synchoronized under one leadership
• Tarbiyyah - build character of teens, give them a sense of belonging, give them a vision of Islam

Real Dawah - give ride to a friend for a year, take them to the masjid, take to MSA meetings

Tragedy - ulama are scattered

North America - multi-ethnic, ulama from all over the world

Presenting deen in a way people can understand - ULAMA > DAWAT (BUFFER) > PEOPLE

Islamic organization will always have problems, point is to make it bettter (find a whole and fill it)

CHARACTERISTICS OF LEADERS AND FOLLOWERS

• Leader - lenient/soft of leader/ not harsh
• delegates work to followers, followers sometimes don't do it
• Manager is under a lot of pressure
• Forgive them and ask Allah to forgive them when you are alone. Not in public
• Take thier opinion in order they feel loved and included
• When you make a decision trust in Allah, Allah loves those who have trust in Him

When meeting is over, then leave

When you sit in a meeting, spread out, then the ones who are late will be sitting in between

Madani Quran - lessons about behavior of groups

There will always be manafiqoon/trouble makers

• Do not lavel them but deal with them
• Among you are those who give them an ear/llistener and speaker are wrongdoers

Importance of being unitified

May Allah grant us quality leaders and followers

Characteristics of someone who works for deen (42:36)

Conscous decision to work on themselves and around them

When you work on yourself you feel a sense of accomplishment

When you work on others for the deen it will not be pleasant

Musa connected with Allah and then went to talk to Firoon

"The coolness of my eye is in salah"

After you are done with the mission,then go back fully to Allah

Merger of: Work for Allah/Thikr of Allah

This balance only comes with good company

Omar and Abu Bakr were balanced by Prophet (PBUH)

One needs the company of the other

Student: 3/4 Learning, 1/4 teaching

In order to keep motivation:

• Dunya = mata3 = something you use but it will not stay with you
• Whatever is with Allah is better and longer lasting for those who believe
• Work, heart, effort because we are depositing with Allah
• Give me your money and life
• We have a guarantee
• The more he works, the happier he gets
• We are witnesses on all mankind
• Did we do our job?
• We have a huge responsiblity
• Half to Allah (fuel of our personality)/half to people
• Prayer, Zakat, hold on dearly to Allah
• Only for those who have a relaitonship with the Quran
• Always a balance of two extremes
• HALAGA OF QURAN IN EVERY MASJID/JOIN A CIRCLE OF QURAN STUDY

Three Fights - everybody sees things in their perspective

• Man Rights vs Woman Rights (Socialism)
• Boss (More work, less money) vs Employee (less work, more money) (Captializsm vs Labor)
• Government (More Control, More Taxes) vs People
